This series of exhibitions in huge disused factory space (ca. 2500 sq. m.), shows artists who studied at the Städel Acadamy of Art in Frankfurt, during the 1980's. It shows the diverstiy and quality of art works of many artists from 'MY GENERATION'. Some are well known, nationally and internationally, some are hardly known publically at all. Is there a difference in the quality of the artists work?
The show continues over 5 exhibition openings, adding more artists each time.
The last opening "MY GENERATION 5" will be in 2009. |

This year I have completed three new films on DVD:
"This not a ballet - Reflections of impermanance" - 15 minutes, filmed at the Frankfurt Ballet;
"Uphill-Downhill" - 5 minutes, filmed in Cornwall;
and most recently -
"Heidelandschaft-painting action" 45 minutes, which was filmed during a painting action involving ten artists at the VULKAN GegenwartsKunst Galerie.
A film Programme of my films is in the planning for early next year - in Mainz. It will include older and newer works, Super 8 films and Digital films - Watch this space for date, time and place ! |

The unusual and impressive Germersheim Art Society space required a special solution to show the DVD work.
The result is the FILM-BOX, which allows the films 'Underwater' and 'Tides' to be viewed close up and personal, or from a distance,somehow like a moving painting. |

Für die Städel-Schülerin FIONA LEUS waren die Medien Malerei, Grafik, film und Installation von Anfang an maßgebend und Richtung weisend für ihre Arbeit. Im thalhaus ist sie mit einzlbildern aund Serien aus den Bereichen Malerei und Grafik vertreten, wobei auch in den grafischen Arbeiten das Medium Film indirekt eine rolle spielt,. Ihre am Computer entstandenen Pigmentprints sind isolierte Bilder aus ihren Super 8Filmen, oft mit Menschen in Bewegung, die sie als Bildfragmente zu einer neuen Chronologie ordnet und zu ornamentartigen Bild-Choreographien zusammenfügt. Bei ihrer Malerei wiederum geht es FIONA LEUS um eine bewusst "analytische" Farbsetzung, die an einen intuitiven Umgang mit der Farbe gekoppelt ist. Dabei untersucht sie im Sinne einer künstlerischen Forschung die Farbwirk-ungen unter- und aufeinander. Farben entfalten im Zusammenspiel Vibrationen, Farblinien kristallisieren sich zu strukturierten und geordneten Farbbändern; Farb-irritationen werden als scheinbare Bewegung der Farbbänder und Farbräume sichtbar. |
